For Chuck, someone very, very special to me.

The Winds of Change

I often wonder why, that spring evening in May
the winds of change, chose to blow you my way

Never knowing I'd find someone who'd capture my heart
across the miles that night a special love and friendship did start

Why a precious gift, as you, was bestowed upon me
I'll never know for sure, maybe it was meant to be

Whether you call it chance, fait, or simply good luck
One thing's become clear, I'll always love you, Chuck

So as those winds blow, in and out of our lives
Know I'm here to stay, not to leave with the tide

The winds may blow hard, but we’ll weather the storm
Together we'll thrive and shine like the stars

If the clouds roll in, and the storm gets a bit rough
Follow the light of your soul to my heart filled with love

Together we'll conquer all this life has to bring
Bonded forever, together, on a dove's gentle wings

Ah, KellSue~
Nothing as romantically warming as the 'winds of change' that blow us in
that sure-direction.

Beautiful, hon.

This really hit home with me.  That name.  It gets me every time.

poetFemmeFatale - Thank you!  I will be sure to let him know you said so!!    I've read a few of your poems so far and have liked every one...I'm going back for more!  Thank you again!

lorilockheart - I'm so glad my poem touched you!  It makes me feel good when someone tells me that about something I've wrote.  Is it the name of the poem or the subject's name that gets to you every time...??

Thank you again, everyone!
