I miss you so

How can I write in words what I feel
How can I utter what seems so real

So real, but yet so far away
How can I ink these words I cannot say

These words I cannot say
Deep inside my heart the lay

They lay and suffocate my core
While my heart is sore

While my heart is sore and cannot beat
My soul is weary and silently I weep

I weep inside, in chambers dark
While my soul cannot embark

Cannot embark to silent soil
How can I write these words with which I toil

I toil to feel you here with me
My friend, were would I be without thee

Without thee I’m nothing more
Than a stranded fish along the nowhere shore

Nowhere I will have to go
Do I need to say I miss you so?

I am not sure about the other poets here but I find it is hard to express the subjects that are the most personal and precious, such a close friendship. I feel my words cannot do their subject matter justice, I also find it hard to write about happiness without getting into clichés and corny images. Though love is one of the hardest things to write about. It may even defy words.

"Cannot embark to silent soil
How can I write these words with which I toil" a great image, one I am all too familiar with.

Thank you, to all of you for your replies

Thx, I understand what you are saying, and yes at times it is hard to find words without falling into cliches. I sometimes just follow my heart and the word fall into place, rather then to follow my thoughts and get frustrated. Perhaps you should try it.

Thx, I hope that you are well and that your world is turning. Missed you all, yes I did, I’m still uncertain of as to how much time I can devote to passions. It’s sure nice to see that you are all still there.

This "linking scheme" is one I've always wanted to try, and you made it look so effortless here.  Very good job you've done with this.  Maybe I'll give it a try now, as you have given me some ambition!  hehe  Hope you do show your face from time to time.  You have been missed, and your list of followers is growing quite long!

Thx, for the good gosh. I hope that all these arrows didn't harm you. Perhaps these words might be said to you in different verse, soon. I wish that your wish will come true for you.

Helmut,
I can see how much you miss your friend.

"So real, but yet so far away
How can I ink these words I cannot say"

Oh, but you have - and very well.
Your words touched my heart.  Thank you.

Thank you lori for your reply.
Take your heart let it form the line
Poetry can be so rewarding and sheer devine
You also write with your heart as I can see
I'm glad that I met thee
