~  His Lighthouse  ~

Tossed he is, both to and fro
trying to find his way -
On the everchanging tides of life
I reach him in this way...
I've been here his whole life
waiting for discovery -
Alas, he finally sees my light
and reaches out to me...

I steer him clear of stagnant shore
I illuminate his mind -
I give him visibility, so that
faith and hope he'll find.
I stand here as a beacon
in the distance, yet in sight -
My thoughts, my soul, my voice I share
to guide him through the night...

I point him out to deeper seas
away from shallow wreck -
He waves to me through grateful eyes
I see him there on deck...
I'd love to have him nearer,
but he's happier at sea -
He knows I only shine for him
I shine to guide him free...

Gen,
You are quickly becoming my favorite poet...no offense Micheal...lol

Geeze, I don't know how you do it but keep it up. These latest poems of yours are definitely some of the best I have read.

All my love,

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

Yes Gen tell us how you do it. You are such an inspiration. Your wisdom is so vast. You could write about anything. You make me cry. Happy tears though. I will be waiting for your words to carry me through next week. I don't imagine I could be more amazed by you. But I bet you will prove me wrong.

Sven - - Wow, the "D" word...I can only say he knows I am there for him in all ways I possibly can be, and for him, that's enough.  We have a mutual respect for eachothers limitations.  I think that's why we're so close.  As far as time, my new job basically pays me to write, as I have nothing else to do....LOL  Thanks for always reading sir. *bows humbly*

Netswan - - Thank you!  I am so glad you read so much of my work.  I always remember my "regulars", and you are fast becoming one!  LOL

Jeffrey - - (blushing)  From you sir, that is an amazing compliment.  Thank you.  All I can say is that I finally believe in something true, those things referred to as fairy-tales.

Janet - - ROFLMAO at you sharpening my pencils!  You can be mentioned on the first page as the one who gave me the idea in the first place! And you will get the first copy my dear!  Promise!

Brent - - "Amazed?"  Wow, that's powerful too, like that "D" word Sven mentioned.  I will carry you, as I know how much you weigh, and I can handle it, and I will do my best to prove you wrong, deal?   I am always graced by your comments.  Thank you is just never enough.

WhiteNite - - Short and sweet you are....er....not you, your comment!  hehehe  Thank you!

Thank you again for all the wonderful replies to this piece.  It was a very special one for me to write...someone else gave me the idea, and I went with it.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out.  Definately inspired by my best friend...thank you best friend...    Love you all!

Thanks for being my lighthouse...!  There are only so many things in life that give unrequited pleasure.  Reading your poetry is not so much reading as experiencing.  Thanks.

Absolutely astonishing imagery PoetFemme. I love to paint ... and you've inspired a lighthouse scene in my mind, though I fear I could not do your words justice. Truly touching ... I loved this!

Gen, such lovely selflessness here.  Stunning, beautifully lighted devotion..you have touched my heart, for I know these feelings well.  Especially "I shine to guide him free..."

Gen~
I love it!  You know, there really is no greater feeling that by giving your devotion that you help someone you love.  Even if he has to be at sea right now, he will not forget you, and you will be rewarded one day!

This is so creative, and such a wonderful way to express your feelings.  I really, really liked this one.
