Devil in Disguise

Twas a brisk November day
When she came to him in her innocent way
Possesing no doubt of his manly charms
Leaving her speechless and with a broken heart

Though the tears she hides inside
How a beloved browneyes
Dissappointed her that night
Tempting to remove her physical charm
Her scars shall heal
Her heart shall forgive
Her soul somehow cannot forget
The capitivity she felt that nite as she wept

Soaring free her wounds now have healed
Time passes on and her life has become
Filled with love and forgiveness
For on that night she knows deep inside
It was the devil in disguise.

It is a wise person indeed, who can look back, review their past heartbreaks and find forgiveness. A lovely poem CocoBaci ...

Welcome to Passions. I enjoyed this piece and the rang with much truth. I hope to see more from you.

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shodows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face...

CocoBaci~
This is clearly lovely poetry from a
heart that has known both the love and
the sorrow ... and yet continues to long
for another love to come.

Welcome to our family of Passionate poets.
Hope to see more of your tender thoughts.

CocoBaci,
Thanks for welcoming me to Passions.

This poem really made me think about innocence.  Even mine.  Very insightful.

I look forward to your others.

Thanks,
Lori

Hi Coco and add my welcome to the list...
this is very well written and expressed.
like the style you wrote this in.
very lovely...look forward to more.
take care, jm

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.
