A thought before I go

You said that you wanted to grow

so into the valley you must go.

But soon enough you will be back

on top of the mountain and flying high,

just like a magnificent eagle

in the spacious sky.

Cute poem.   Short is great sometimes isn't it?

~James~

A short, to the point and sweet poem. Less really is more, your poem speaks volumes about letting go and spreading one's wings for growth!  It reminds me of the famous quote that if you love something you must let it go, if it was meant to be yours it will return, if it doesn't return then it was never meant to be.  Your poem is simply beautiful. I re-read it four times already and if you don't mind I will print out a copy for myself! I Love this one!

Take care,

Short but extremely effective, I remember a line from a song I had once heard:
Fly high, like an eagle, fly high into the sky....

(Song was called Flight of Icarus, by a heavy metal rock band: Iron Maiden)

Great work, James, I enjoyed it.

Regards, sudhir

 In any moment of decision,
The best thing you can do is the right thing,
The next-best thing is the wrong thing,
And the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Thank you Melissa, Sudhir, and Lone Wolf for reading and commenting on this.
It is a wonderful feeling to have someone say that your poem is beautiful..Melissa maybe you liked this poem even more than the woman I wrote this for.  She was going thru some hard times..and she has always given me wonderful words of wisdom and comfort...even thru some of my darkest hours.
So I wrote this for her to lift up her spirits...she did appreciate it..she is a precious lady.  I don't mind if anyone prints copies.  James

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

Just goes to show that often, less is more.  Your poem conveyed everything it needed to with feeling, by using few words. Bravo!!
