light's portal cast down from heav'n
scattered brokenly, our love sever'n
tears and rain fall mingled down
no smile to cause from this heart's frown
I seek you not among the flowers
while dew-drops fall in ardent showers
we shall not linger among the blooms
we shall not rest a moment too soon
I cannot deny this weary heart
each moment, each hour, we're apart
I crawl now on my humbled knee
a prayer, a token, giv'n to thee
I offer up a meager gift
this pledge is all I have to give
I'll love you now, forever more
yea past the pull of heav'n's door
death cannot our passion quell
for you, for I, have loved too well
soon my treasure offered up
no jewel, no riches can usurp
I bargain this my love, my sight
to wake with you in soft morn light
no fear can now to us be giv'n
our love shall not this time be riv'n
we dwell in this our earthly haunt
knowing life may ne'er end our want
know this now, my story well
be it heav'n, be it hell
we'll wake one morn to gentle embrace
no more empty nights to face
rest with me in quiet repose
and seal our pledge with crimson rose

This was great hun!  I loved the end and I even felt that the signature at the end added to it as well.  it made me feel kinda warm a fuzzy.  (tell anyone and you'll get a box of wet noodles in the mail!)  lol

Heather...this one is very sweet, touching, and romantic.  I can feel the ardorous pledge, the lenghts one would go through, just to keep a loved one near.  Beautiful, simply beautiful.

The meter was there, the rhymes and rhythm was there, the imagery and message were there...a very well-crafted poem.

Congratulations on yet another fabulous creation!

Yikes... this is so powerful, Angel.

"knowing life may ne'er end our want"

Indeed - I know that longing... I love the tragic feel to this... the Romeo & Juliet quality of love living by death... if you will.

Wonderful work, dear.

Wow... someone is very lucky.  This was beautiful.
