midnight air surrounds me
belongings scattered on the floor
radio softly playing
sitting near a wide open door
so many things to pack away
so many dreams stowed today
so many memories to put in place
once more haunted by a loving face
why did I return to say goodbye
why did I return to once more cry
why must I taunt myself again
how much of this can I take within
alone in the night with only myself
trapped in this place I despise
held in this room by an unseen force
pushed to say these tearful goodbyes
as memories keep flooding back
taking me to a time way back when
a time where fun was easy and free
a time where I was young once again
playing at recess in the sand box
having naptime in the afternoons
with snacks and crafts and teddy bears
with goodbyes replaced with see-you-soons
then the moment is passed; reality sets in
no longer young; I'm old now within
Time to say goodbye to things I hold dear
Time to say goodbye, time to face the fear
put it all away, hop aboard the plane
think about it another day, when I am sane
hide behind the smile that lives on my face
hide myself away in my secret hiding place
wipe the tears away; dream again some other day
face the music I began; remember fear makes the man
come up with something to say; live for one more day
remember the face of my #1 fan; do it cause you can

God makes the man, who succeeds when fear scares the weak away, stronger.

when I was going insane
tryin to walk through
the pain
when I lost my grip
and I hit the floor
yeah I thought I could leave but couldn't get out the door" - Aerosmith "Amazing"

In times of change, I truly believe that fear makes you stronger. It helps you to forge ahead and tackle the challenges of life head-on. I loved this Desperado ... beautifully written!

This is lovely writing Desparado - I do hope things will become easier for you.

mmm and I'm sure people have told you this before, but from your photo, you sure seem easy on the eyes!!

thank you guys.  I hope it gets easier as well.  I really appreciate your comments.

(oh and Gloria, that poem that I last talked to you about over a week ago was more than just me rambling, but I wasn't in a place that I felt would enable me to say the whole story.  I appologize.)
