A Case of Poetitis

I’ve got Poetitis
It’s a chronic dread disease
And Versitis which is painful
When my mind is not at ease

There’s Readers Syndrome, Critics Cramp
And Moderators Mal
And Passion Webaholics
Who must daily make a pal

There’s Sonnetitis, Keyboarditis
Then there’s Midnight Muse
Open Seven Misery and
Teen and Mentor Blues

Corner Pubaholics
Who are somehow quarantined
Dark Passion Psychotics
And a ward that’s just for Teens

There are as many illnesses
As poets on the net
That Free Verse Fever is but one
I haven’t caught as yet

Pray you never suffer
Villanella Poisoning
Besides Acrostic substances
There’s no more painful thing

I wish my sinuses Quadrain
This scene is getting old
Haiku!, Haiku! excuse me!
But I think I’ve caught a cold

Please pass the tissues here - Haiku!

Ghazaltite! and may God bless you!

Liz

Janet Marie,
You are so cute. I really had to laugh at your response
You are too much!

Balladeer,
Somehow I knew you'd be in on this.
Yeh, I'm going into detox for a little while, so this is my last poem. Be back in a few weeks

Dear Liz, I have been in denial for so long...now, thanks to you, I realize that I am an addict....addicted to poetry, and the magic of getting high off free verse...and I don't want to quit.  This is a super poem, my friend...and my heart will be with you while you're gone...oh, and God bless you!

This is delightful, Elizabeth! Now where is that next Villanelle that I have been waiting for? You really must finish out the months sometime. They would make a wonderful collection.

Hehehe
This is cute Elizabeth. Was wearing a big grin the entire read,
Especially the Haiku, Haiku!
You are excused and God Bless you!

Sy,
Thank you, dear friend, I'm facing withdrawal here

Martie,
I knew you were hooked a long time ago. But the way you're producing poetry right now, I'm afraid there's no cure.

Denise,
There are villanelles on my hard drive. Thanks to you.
I'll be in touch as soon as I can. Things are a little hectic right now
Thank you, dear

Shari,
Thanks for the read. It was fun to write, and I like having fun
Thank you

Liz

Busy Lizzie~

Thank you for the diagnosis.
I'm headed for the cure.
Taking two rhymes with rhythm
and hoping to meet you in the moor.

Be well, be serene, my dear friend.
Love and hugs to you and Tony.
God bless.

I have a little jacket of white
with many discriminating little straps
my husband kept it out of sight
I only use it when I nap.

For these fingers itch and itch
in my sleep I start to roll and pitch
for that dread disease...writer's block
ticks in my head like a loud, loud clock.

Now I see I'm not alone, nay
for Santos here, she has had her say,
so to her, I will over-night
my little strappy jacket of white!

&^%$#

Great job, Elizabeth...grinning widely here, I am!

Elizabeth,
I love it!   You have made me laugh for the first time today.  I wonder, if you constantly suffer from all of the above, does that make you a hyPOETchondriac?

If so I guess I am............

Love Ya~
