~Unrequited~

Of all the things I've never done ...
and all the things I've still yet to do.
I'd trade them all away in a heart beat ...
to be lying there next to you.

For the beaches I've never walked on ...
the oceans I'll never see.
I'd gladly forfeit their beauty ...
to drown in the depths of your intensity.

There is so much I've not yet seen or done ...
so much of me remains unrequited.
Still I'd pass on it all,
to live inside your heart ...  so sweetly invited.

Of all the languages I've not spoken ...
all the love songs I've not yet heard.
I'd give my ability to speak ...
just to inspire in you ... but a single poetic word.

For all the delicacies I've not savored ...
the fine wines I'll not sip.
Without hesitation I would starve ...
for just a taste of you on my lips.

Of all the pleasures I've yet to know ...
the contentment still not found within.
They could never compare ...
to the ecstasy of this anticipated sweet sin.

One might say ...
you cant trade away what you don't possess or hold.
Still I'd sell my soul in a second ...
to have carnal knowledge of your secrets untold.

If this guy did not know, he better well know now. This was fantastic Janet. You poured your heart out on the line(as to say). If this poem doesn"t get his attention I just do not know what will.
Good Luck

J.M.*
This is one of my favorites I must say....first I thought this was about a love lost then it went to a love not yet acquired....the want for them is about the same...giving it all up for just one sweet moment...to make it all worth it.  Written with the style that you have perfected!!
Thank you for sharing this **AW hugs** S.S.

Wow...I was gonna pick out my favorite stanzas, but they were ALL good, and just kept getting better toward the end!  I really liked your list of all the things you wanted from "him"....very sensual list indeed...This really hits home with me right now - that longing you have, the desires you feel - yep....I've been tied up in those now for awhile...   Unfortunately, I've been fighting 'em off, and trying to convince myself I'm winning!  ROFL  If you've got your eye on somebody, I pray he knows he's being watched!  LOL  You go get him girl!  I'm right on your flank, in case he tries to duck right!  hehe

Of all the people i have never met
all the things i have never done,
all places i have never been
all prizes i have never won

Of all the joy there is to share
all the dreams that can come true
there's only one I hold so dear
it's to be a special friend to you

Enjoyed your poem JM, your writing is superb as always~~

Hey Janet,
how did I miss this one?  You really are reading my mind tonight. . . to trade everything for a chance at the one love that will make you happy. . . *sigh*

Excellent poem, my friend. . .
