Classical music moves my soul
with pure harmonic blessings,
Hip-Hop makes me wanna dance
in baggy colorful dressings,
Disco, well it's all been said
from the seventies until now,
but when I wanna hustle
I'll listen anyhow,
Doo-Wop's silky acappelas
are soulful and uplifting,
New Age soothes my day away
with meditative drifting,
Jazz is intellectual
it's funky and eclectic,
Industrial is oh so cool
it's clangy and electric,
Fifties music is lots of fun
i'm sure we all agree,
Country's even listenable
although depressingly,
Rock and roll will never die
I hear it everywhere,
Heavy Metal pounds my soul
it's impact fills the air,
I love all types of music
all artists from A to Z,
if you would see my collection
you'd say, "Oooo Weeee"!

Good poem sir! I agree with you on most of this...(hate country!)...so which music do you listen to while you're writing?

Hey, you wanta buy a record collection...5,000...all kinds...wonderful...you could start your own business. I love music too, and loved this poem! (I'm serious about the records)

Thanks PoetDevine. When I'm writing I listen to Classical or Jazz mostly. Some of my overall favorite artists though are Neil Young, Joan Armatrading, Charles Mingus, Marilyn Manson and Erika Badhu. I just listen to everything I can get my hands on. Peace. ACT.
