~i had been having writer's block, but I found some new inspiration!

The Light
By: Amy M. Kennedy

Sitting here wondering what is the meaning of my life
feeling the world closing in around me
Then out of the darkness, there appeared a light that swept me up
so bright it was hard to see
The most beautiful face my eyes have ever laid upon
graced my sight
You chased away my fears and tears
away went the ugly cold of the night
Once again I could breath
the dark no longer holding me its prisoner...but set me free
With a few words from you, my life changed, and I again found me
My heart now dares again to love and to hope and to dream
Wanting to hold you close
underneath the sun, the stars, a moonbeam
But alas the distance for now seperates us, but doesn't change the intensity of what we feel
Sweet eternal bliss
this is so true and real
I won't allow doubt to creep in
or to ruin this perfect moment in time
And if this is wrong
then caring for you has been my only crime
Would serve my sentence knowing you are in my heart
and that what we have is true
So here I sit, counting the days
till I can be with you

Beautiful poem!  I look forward to reading more in the future.
