I am a lover of words, and a poet of sorts,
I wonder how the mind works, how much it distorts,
I hear people and places calling to me,
I see their beckoning images in words that I read,
I want to sail into those mysterious ports,
I am a lover of words, and a poet of sorts.

I pretend that I'm strong, though I'm quite delicate,
I feel life is a series of changing vignettes,
I touch lightly on the past, for I look to the new,
I worry that friendship and love won't stay true,
I cry for those who play life and love as a sport,
I am a lover of words, and a poet of sorts.

I understand every person lives life differently,
I say, though, that in the golden rule I believe,
I dream of a day we will see less suffering,
I try to help others who pull on my heartstrings,
I hope that some change is made through my efforts,
I am a lover of words, and a poet of sorts.

Enotneicna, Corazon, Alicat, and Claire,

Thank you all for reading and commenting. I have been in CA for so long, I find it almost overwhelming to try to read all of this poetry, let alone to comment. Thank you for making me feel a bit more welcome here.

Thank you, Denise. Coming from one who has just passed 10,000 posts, well...I guess that really means something special. Thanks again,

Kris
