Dont Look;Just Leap

Maybe thereís no way out of hell,
But itís a war I have to wage myself.
Youíre the reason Iím even here today.
Iíll love the pain when these memories fade.
I wanna go back and relive the dream.
I wanna block it out; wanna hear you scream.
Is it something that Iíll regret?
Or do I want what I canít get?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldnít need so many walls.
only  cry when the angels fallÖ

Maybe thereís no way to love this face.
Or see these arms as a resting place.
Could be a fear to commit or of love thatís true.
Could be a teary smile that sparkles so well on you.
But youíll never know how much I feel.
Weíre not ready for something so real.
Is this something that Iíll regret?
Or do I want what I canít get?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldnít need so many walls.
only cry when the angels fallÖ

Maybe thereís no way to move on,
Or erase the masks we both drew on.
But that canít be true; no moonís full forever.
If Iím on the last rung, then it can only get better.
Iíd sell my soul to bring you to me.
Then again, perhaps weíre where weíre síposed to be.
Is this something I canít get?
Or do I want what Iíll regret?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldnít need so many walls.
only cry when the angels fallÖ

†We all got somethin' we need to atone for.

"only cry when the angels fall..."  I just loved this line!  And I liked how you kept using that stanza over and over for emphasis.  Very nice piece here, and it was like I was reading your heart.  Fabulous read sir.  Thank you for sharing!

Excellent writing here, Ethan.  I'm glad I stopped here.  Lot of power beneath the surface here...  Wonderfully done.

***ethan halo,
i am in total awe.
in the space of an hour i have read two of your poems and i am amazed...
is amazed the right word?
i don't know, are there any words?

you say all that i need to, only you do it with talent...

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Ethan~
you took my breath away with this
one! i have felt this way before as
well and a flood of memories played
through my mind and heart as i read
this one. this could definitely be
put into song format and i am sure
would sell just wonderfully. excellent
just excellent.
