Dont Look;Just Leap

Maybe there’s no way out of hell,
But it’s a war I have to wage myself.
You’re the reason I’m even here today.
I’ll love the pain when these memories fade.
I wanna go back and relive the dream.
I wanna block it out; wanna hear you scream.
Is it something that I’ll regret?
Or do I want what I can’t get?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldn’t need so many walls.
only  cry when the angels fall…

Maybe there’s no way to love this face.
Or see these arms as a resting place.
Could be a fear to commit or of love that’s true.
Could be a teary smile that sparkles so well on you.
But you’ll never know how much I feel.
We’re not ready for something so real.
Is this something that I’ll regret?
Or do I want what I can’t get?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldn’t need so many walls.
only cry when the angels fall…

Maybe there’s no way to move on,
Or erase the masks we both drew on.
But that can’t be true; no moon’s full forever.
If I’m on the last rung, then it can only get better.
I’d sell my soul to bring you to me.
Then again, perhaps we’re where we’re s’posed to be.
Is this something I can’t get?
Or do I want what I’ll regret?

If you can live with all my faults,
If I could return a couple of calls,
We wouldn’t need so many walls.
only cry when the angels fall…

"only cry when the angels fall..."  I just loved this line!  And I liked how you kept using that stanza over and over for emphasis.  Very nice piece here, and it was like I was reading your heart.  Fabulous read sir.  Thank you for sharing!

Excellent writing here, Ethan.  I'm glad I stopped here.  Lot of power beneath the surface here...  Wonderfully done.

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Ethan~
you took my breath away with this
one! i have felt this way before as
well and a flood of memories played
through my mind and heart as i read
this one. this could definitely be
put into song format and i am sure
would sell just wonderfully. excellent
just excellent.
