Winds of Loss

A broken heart is easily burned,
For it lies on the ground as tenders.

The love it needs, does it yearn,
But weak for lack of defenders.

The spirit tries to soar so high,
That it loses orientation.

Sights that are seen aren’t real, oh nigh.
Lack of destination.

The soul is eternal in pain of loss,
For lack of what it needs.

The time now comes for me to toss,
With hands full of seeds.

But love is gone on winds of loss,
As I fall to my knees.

A lovely visual ... so much essence of life and love soaring and flying in the winds.  A beautiful poem.

Welcome to Passions!
As a lover of nature, I have seen loss there, and in my own life. This was exquisite in that you mentioned seeds....and I thought of how the wind carries them. Looking forward to reading more.

Rick, my Friend,
I am at a loss for words.  The emotion that resonates from this poem is as real as the very air around me.  Every time I read it  I like it a little more.  It has always been one of my favorites of yours, and I am so glad that now you have joined us at Passions you decided to share it with everyone else.  Keep it up.  I know that everyone here is waiting for the next one as much as I am!

Good opener my friend, welcome to Passions.

If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name. (Michelle A. Bartley)

Oh, now,
What are we doing on the second page already?  I think I just 'accidentally' bumped you back to the top!  Well, this poem deserves a second read.....and a third....and a fourth....

This is such a "feeling" piece. I, too, loved the idea of spreading the seeds to the wind...there was hope in that, but then, the winds of loss...such lovely descriptive writing. Welcome and thank you for sharing this.

I read a special poem today
that really touched my heart,
i felt through its words what you can not say
in my soul a fire did start.

So I read this special poem again
to see if what i felt was true
and i must confess to you, dear friend,
through your words i better know you.

And once again I returned
to the poem that touched my heart
for to be read i know it yearns
so i'll bump it again to the start!

Rick, my friend,
This truly is a wonderful piece.  I can feel it almost as much as you can.

Those seeds that you have tossed to the wind will land and new life from there will grow.
And may it be for you a beautiful Rose!

Welcome to Passions.

Rick* This speaks depths from a heart that has walked in the darkness of pain, your words full of pain and heartache...and your last lines....amazingly done.  Welcome to Passions...Thank you for sharing this gift you have within you and may you find the healing touch that poetry seems to have.
