My Friend

A short little poem about a friend I met,
One quiet evening while surfing the net
So many rooms had I been in and around,
Yet such beautiful traits have I seldom found.

Inner strength and a caring heart,
Perfect cornerstones from which to start
Always patient, never terse
Please listen carefully to this next verse.

A new dawn arises, such a beautiful gleam
Her kindness spreads across creations’ scene
No escaping her touch, not a single soul
Inspiring the lonely to reach for higher goals.

Why does she do it, why does she care,
What’s in her heart that allows her to share?
Those special traits with a man like me
One whom she’s never met and may never see?

There’s only one answer and it’s in front of my face
One of heavens special souls, touched by God’s grace
And every so often He smiles on mankind
And reveals a special jewel, a very rare find!

This world is a better place for having her here
And how lucky I am that she is always so near
For when I am lonely or just a bit down
Her gentle voice lifts my spirit off the ground

She may never know what she has done for me
As a man of few words, I can often be
But if my soul could talk, these words it would impart,
Not a single step I take without you in my heart

I would like to end this poem on a special way
About that beautiful friend whom I met that day
Enriching my life as few others could do
Maybe God’s grace has shined on me too?

The end…..

TinCan~
This is just the loveliest expression of your feelings for someone who obviously cares very much for you and others.

How very thoughtful of you to express it so well.  I sure hope you share it with the person who has so touched your life.

Must be that your friend also sees something very special in you ... I think I can see just what she sees .... a compassionate soul.

Beautiful poem.  You are lucky to have found a friend so true.  They are rare, don't let them go!
