         The Game

With their toys, little boys
playing trucks on the knees,
are assured the biggest is the best.
Primal joys evoke noise
as big rigs drive to please,
every load right on time, east or west.

Every curve testing nerve,
gentle hands guiding best,
steady thrust builds the torque loads require;
most obsessed, overstressed
that Lorelei attest,
if prowess and passion drive desire.

From the dirt men will flirt,
playing games. Through their wiles
they conspire to enjoy each desire,
matters not who they've got,
a conquest brings brash smiles
on faces leading races, wire to wire,

love using, abusing,
unseeing it's themselves
they demean, should virtue die unseen.
Who can fly Honor's sky
with self-esteem's stark shelves,
when to wife his lifestyle looks obscene?

"Fathers, reach them and teach
pre-teen sons all you know
about love, passion's fire and respect,
what men waste having chased
a conquest." Should dads sow,
truth may grow that sons will not reject.

This is a sad tale neatly weaved with a
great message.

And, though your target
was little boys growing to men --
we mustn't forget to add in the girls,
for they are guilty of all in your poem,
too.

HA - You've deviated from your norm here - I think this one should definitely do another lap or two around this Passionate place... We could certainly all benefit a great deal from your wisdom... Nice to see you, as usual..

Full of wisdom, HA! Children learn more than we realize from the words and actions of their parents. It's wise to sow good seed while we are still able to! Great poem, of course!
