Remember me, oh foolish heart,
When your day is done.
Remember how I loved you,
That I'd only just begun.

Remember how I touched your life,
The look there in my eye.
Rememeber how I vowed my love,
Until the day I die.

I understand, oh foolish heart,
Some things can never be.
I understand the tears I cried,
You also shed for me.

I can not make you love me,
I can not make you care.
I can only set you free,
Knowing I'm always there.

Remember me, oh foolish heart,
With the setting of the sun.
Remember that I loved you once,
And I'd only just begun.

Do we ever really let go?
we can switch the feelings around ... like the shell game ... but make no mistake ... the pea has not disappeared

beautiful Marilyn

This is by far my favorite poem of yours Marilyn.  And one of my all time favorites...

A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her.

That was a beautiful poem.  Full of meaning, love and a heart of gold.  We never truly let go, but that isn't always a bad thing.  I enjoyed it very much.

that we recognize our oneness,
even as the single droplet of water
knows also that it is the sea."Daniel

marilyn

i really felt this piece with my whole being. not letting go as everyone has stated isn't necessarily a bad thing. sometimes memories make us stronger and better people.

take care and smile!

Marilyn~
Such loving thoughts from a beautiful soul.

I believe that every love is true ...
as long as we're in it.

***marilyn,
this poem is beautiful
so stark but with so many intricacies
love, in whatever form can never really be forgotten.
