UN~WILLING TO STEP INTO THE UN~KNOWN

Its time I now say quietly to myself
I knew it was coming but I did not
want to admit it out loud, for then
I would have to hear it come from
my own lips.

I walked through this bad dream
not so blind, not so dumb, and not
numb enough. This fact makes it even
more imperative to react now before
I give something up not replaceable.

The finalizing of any kind of journey
that has failed is not a step that one
chooses to take easily. It often takes
many steps going back wards before
we can brave the leap into the
unknown.

This step to those who care will say it’s
worth the pain, and others will not
give counsel out of later rejection.
But it is with out compassion, and
malice will you find in abundance.

What is it that compels me to keep this
fight going, I can see the end so clearly.
I also can see what it has done to those
around me that I am liable for not only
mentally but physically.

Can I admit that I am a victim?
If I look at the fact that I went in
to this relationship with the belief
that the love I felt was also mutual
by him then that makes me a
victim.

If this were still a fight worth fighting
then I as a victim would be able to
reason my way out of it, but I know
I can’t out of just plain evidence that
the fight has been with myself for along
while and it is fear of the unknown
that prevents me from the actions that
I must take.

So to ponder it is simply that, but there
is no more  justifying, for I am free
of blame. I have gone to all lengths
to save the un-savable and now ride
this trip knowing the out come but
face the fear unwilling.

Hi Netswan,
Thank you for your kind words, this is something I find myself pondering but lack the courage to make the jump.

Hi amazon_lover,
Thank you also for your kind words, I know my poetry sometimes does not seem to resemble poetry for the most part but to someone out there it does hopefully give some understanding to life. By the way I cannot find any of your work, have I missed it?

Thanks again,

Cerenity

Cerenity, lots of poetic expression in the verse of inner struggle.
~~nice writing~~

Cerenity, looks like poetry to me, smells like poety, taste like poetry.... must be poetry. Its deep but clear, a wonderful read had my whole attention..... jump for the unknown is just a brief flash to the knowing.
