New York City, the 1920s
     Center of the artisitc universe
Young artist in his 20s
     Forefront of the avant-garde
Starving artist, trying to make a name
Working hard, trying not to play the game
But very soon, his life will never be the same

Subject of his art
     Woman of beauty and grace
Painting her life on his canvas
She would be his subject, his muse
This painting would be a breakthrough
It would lead the way to a movement new
He could then join the ranks of the few

Woman of beauty and grace
     Stole his heart
Fell for her hard, took his soul
More than his muse, became his life
Took her image, preserved it for all time
Gave her immortality, made her shine
But then, that's when she crossed the line

Took his gift and hid it from all
     Kept it for herself
Others would not see his soul
Others would not share his life
One day he went too close to the edge
Took that final step over the ledge
Died for his art, to escape that wedge

The painting hangs on the wall, untouched, unseen, unknown. . .
                                                                                       unloved

Another tragic tale Sven, let's hope this life is all you dreamed of and more!!

A heart and soul are not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others...
