Touch me like you used to
With Fire and not of Ice
Love me like you used to
With passions sweet pure spice

Hold me like you used to
With no Fear of letting go
Care for me like you used to
Not holding back just so I’ll know

Walk with me like you used to
Our steps in time like beats of heart
Talk with me like you used to
With tales of us never to part

Make love to me like you used to
Not with body but of soul
Live with me like you used to
And make again feel whole

 Hold me for yesterday
Kiss me for tomorrow
But love me for today.

I think everyone sort of goes through this stage in a relationship.  I believe it is called "just going through the motions".  We often fall into a pattern when you become to comfortable with someone.  Hung in there....you'll get through it!

Ah -- sweet poem - so full of wishful
thinking -----leaves the reader wondering
is it totally gone, is there a chance
to have it all back -- or is it completely
over?

Is it too much to find an answer,
Is it too much to hold you close.
Is it too much to find a reason,
Is it too much to free my soul --
From self control ...
And I know you're always waiting for me ...
You take me far away,
And I know you're holding me ...
And it's better now ...

Such bittersweet words, my friend.  I love this one.  Really hits home for me.  The end is excellent!!!!  Great writing!!!

~Butterflies

Well i am back from a week of not being here..had lots to do with graduation. And your poem is the first one i clicked on. This one was amazing with its depth of emotion and intensity. I could feel the longing in it as well. great piece of work!

You've brought tears to my eyes Butterflies. I'm living this right now..although I do believe that hint of once was could be returning..it's still extremely painful.  Beautiful, heartwrenching poetry.
