          Soul Lovers

Connection across space and time
glimpsed through webbed words
that bring sudden awareness
that there was a time before
when our soul’s met
before distance could be breached
by just a click for then dreams
were where we opened
and you said the sound of my voice
brought you home
and I said that I could see forever
in the way you smiled
and you were as familiar to me
as my own breath
and your essence was always in me
waiting for a song to press a fragile moment
into showing how silky we slide
down rocks and into valleys that we have never seen
except by listening with each other’s hearts.

This is lovely....

...and you said the sound of my voice
               brought you home
and I said that I could see forever
               in the way you smiled
and you were as familiar to me
               as my own breath
and your essence was always in me....

That really took my breath away!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

We learn more by listening with the heart don't we?   This was excellent.

Oh, this is lovely!  I love reading poems that echo what is in my own heart.  From the words " I said that I could see forever
in the way you smiled" on, it could be the story of Dale and me.  Mmm.  Nice.  Nice.

Martie,
I echo Rosemary in that so many times your writings reflect my own experiences and you put what's deep in my heart onto paper.
I love this

Martie, my sis~
This one hits close to the heart.
You touch loving moments with sweet surrender and fold it into our hearts.

'you said the sound of my voice
brought you home'

You write so beautifully, Martie.
Always a pleasure to read your heart.
