       Listen, Look, Breathe In, Feel

Listen
Can you hear the silence?
The earth holds its breath
As it awaits the dawn.
Look
Can you see it beginning?
The first faint rays of the sun
Paint the horizon with crimson softness.
Breathe in
Can you smell the freshness?
The sweet morning air
Revives the dormant world.
Feel
Can you sense a stirring?
All of nature awakens
To bask in solar warmth.

Listen
Can you hear the stillness?
A new tomorrow
Is just moments away.
Look
Can you see the possibilities?
Another day - a fresh, clean page
To be filled with whatever we desire.
Breathe in
Can you smell the promise?
The sweet breath of freedom
Fills the soul with hope.
Feel
Can you sense a stirring?
The heart awakens
To the breath of life.

Troy, This is fabulous, and so what I felt this morning, I had been in the dumps but this morning I did rise to greet life with a smile. I thank you for sharing this beautiful poem here with us.

Rex - thanks!  If you have a pot of coffee on, I like mine with two cream - no sugar.

Lost Dreamer - thank you!  I actually wrote this one awhile back, and I posted it now to help me raise my own spirits - I've been a bit depressed, myself.  I'm happy that you could relate!

WildChild - you are MOST welcome, if I brightened your day!  And, thank YOU for brightening MINE with your kind comments!

Thank you all for reading and responding!

You had me with you every step of the way Troy, Listening, looking, breathing but most of all feeling. This is a magnificent piece.

 Hold me for yesterday
Kiss me for tomorrow
But love me for today.

Lone Wolf - thank you, my friend!  I'm glad I could brighten your day...that's what friends are for, after all!

Hoot - thanks so much for your gracious comments!  Most of my poetry IS upbeat...although I have written a few mournful ones (you should see "Death, Be Swift" in Dark, for example, LOL!)

Butterflies - I appreciate your kind words!  When I first joined Passions, the first poem that I read was one of yours - and you are still one of my favorites!

Thank you all again for your gentle words!
