Mothers
Give birth to
Screaming vocal cords
Sucking mouths
Messy diapers
Clinging arms
Tiny hair pulling hands
And sleepless nights.

Yet patiently
They meet their demands
Nursing
Nourishing
Cradling and cuddling
Rocking
Comforting
Burping and bouncing
Walking the floor
Entertaining,
Keeping them clean
And smelling sweet

Showering them
With tender devotion
They teach
Life's lessons
Of what it is
To love and
Be loved

From infancy
To eternity
A mother's love, a mother's touch
A mother's work is never completely done
Until God calls her home
And says well done.

Really wonderful poem, this.

Septsong~
Well said, exactly how it is. Mothers never stop being mothers they always care and worry about their children even when they are grown and have children of their own

Glad you liked it, I was thinking of Mother's day coming up when I wrote it. Being a mother is certainly a big responsiblility but worth it!

Dear Septsong,
May I please print this out and frame it? Would you object if I gave it to my daughter for Mothers Day?
In fact, I could merchandize this for you. Let say, 10% commission? Or, we could set up a partneship ,... let's say.... 60/ 40,.. you being the 60, of course..... or maybe vice versa,..... in fact, maybe I could just give you a commission.....say, 10%? You deserve it!.... after all, you wrote it!
(Jealousy is brewing) I mean, you did write it, didn't you?.....Or did I write it?... No, no, no, I was just thinking it.... In fact, I've been thinking it for 30 years. And you just wrote my thoughts,
So,... can I please print it and give it to my daughter for Mothers Day?. How much do you want for it?

How true, Mothers day was a couple of weeks ago over here. Mums are the most important people in the world.
