walking the streets at night alone
trying to heal my heart's ache
but in the silence of the shadows, i hear your voice
and it's more than my heart can take

the hum of the street lights
make a lonely sound above me
but in the silence of the shadows, i see your face
and the pain in my heart won't let me be

the sounds of the city at night
fill my heart and fill my head
but in the silence of the shadows, i see myself
and without you, i am all but dead

my heart melds into the darkness
waiting to see your heart's light
in the silence of the shadows hear my voice
     asking pardon from this night

I really like the style you used Sven.  How could someone who has so much ahead of him be so sad?  Just missing that special someone maybe?

Is it too much to hold you close.
Is it too much to find a reason,
Is it too much to free my soul --
From self control ...
And I know you're always waiting for me ...
You take me far away,
And I know you're holding me ...
And it's better now ...

Sad and poignantly beautiful. I could almost hear your footsteps on the sidewalk!

I did hear them scuffling, trying to find a footing in the rising sea of pain.  Beautiful piece hon, cheer up.  It will work out soon  *hugs*

You've written this scene right into my mind, Sven...so acutely the aching. Beautiful words and message.

Sven....
Excellent writing, my friend.  These words speak volumes.  I am sure that your pardon will be granted....how could she refuse such a heartfelt plea?  Best of luck to you...

Sven~
Your words speak to a lot of hearts.
Sometimes the silence is the right words waiting to happen.
You are correct, we need to listen and wait.
Beautiful thoughts.
