+=======+
| PARIS |
+=======+

Perched on top of the tower,
With a view of the city of lights,
I wish I had with me a lover,
I could have shared the sights.

The tower that was named Eiffel,
And the city that they called Paris,
Even Gustave would thought a trifle,
With city lights shining on his iris.

The Seine cutting through the city,
The sacred heart on top of a hill,
That I didn't have a hand was a pity,
Holding it would have been a pleasure still.

Where all that I saw were monuments,
Each of which was something symbolic,
That the steps I took were great events,
I hope my visits could be more periodic.

The city of lights to me does beckon,
That I will go there again I reckon,
The Arc sends to me an invitation,
Fond memories, I hold with passion.

Take each day as it comes,
Consider each day as a flight,
Try hard to succeed and fly,
Surely then you will reach some height.

But if by some chance you don’t,
Remember that tomorrow will always come.
Learn this well and learn this hard
That today’s efforts will pay for tomorrow’s fun.

I also have fond memories of Paris...I visited 3 times and it was a wonderful adventure...I was hoping to retire in Paris one day but if not at least I will visit once more.   James

Paris Oh it's sounds wonderful, I'll have to make sure I take someone special along though if I'm ever fortunate enough to go..
This was beautiful

Tracie,
A day will come when you will go to Paris, and feel its beauty, as touching as I did. But be sure you take someone along, some one special

In the blue of your iris, I see the lights,
beseeching to me the Paris sights...
and the sound of the Seine comes to my ear,
thus the loss of love in your voice I hear.

For I have walked Paris streets alone
and in some places, heeled the cobbled stone,
for without the love of a deep romance,
only Paris in my dreams doth dance.

I've always wanted to visit Paris, and now I want to go there even more. Thank you for your beautiful description, it makes me feel closer to the beautiful city.

Oh, my goodness !
Just today I received my first postcard from Paris.  My friend and soul-mate is in France and sent me the lovliest card with a lovely photo of the Arc de Triomphe.

How wonderful to see this poem brought up so that I could share it.  I must have surely missed it before.

Now is that ironic or what?
Sudhir .... THANK YOU.
A lovely treat on this evening.

Mérci beaucoup from all my heart...

Sunshine, a usual, you have sent a rush down my spine with the way you put words at the correct place. Your lines look a million times better, and feel better when I read them too! Thanks...

Denise,
Travelling is one of my hobbies, and I have travelled a fair bit in Europe, and Paris is by far the best amongst the big cities, apart from Rome and London (I have yet to go there). I think one should have the 'wanderlust' mood once in a while, its a great pleasure to be able to travel and view lives at various places in close quarters...

Love bug,
I am glad I could propagate the feelings about the visit to Paris (I had been there only for 2 short days, and I can tell you it was not enough)

Sven,
You have flattered me to the extent of bursting. I am glad you liked it.

Marge,
Big brother is watching
Coincidences are after all coincidences, and happen rarely. Great timing, but I am really happy to present to you PARIS as I felt it...

Once again, thanks all of you for reading.

Warm regards, sudhir.

Bonjour Sudhir lyer, really enjoyed your poem.  I have been to Paris twice and each time it was a wonderful experience.  Certainly a place where you would want to take your lover.  It is absolutely the most romantic city I have seen. And so much history and beauty!
Would go again in a second.  It gets better as you learn your way around.
Nice writing!

Once again, thank you sunshine (Karilea).

I did not read the final message from you, I am sorry for that.

Regards, sudhir.

Brian, I am planning to visit Paris sometime this summer. If I have a loved one with me, it will be one of the best bonuses for me in my entire life... thanks for reading and also for wishing me well...

Lorraine,
Thanks for reading. I am glad that Paris has become a part of your agenda of cities to visit. I hope you do that one of these days soon ...

Sudhir
