Dogwood

When dogwood dresses up for spring
She spreads her charm on everything
Enhancing yard and woodland’s face
With white or pinkish veils of lace

Her floral dabbles ‘cross the scene
Lay dainty frills on landscape’s green
I don’t know what a spring would be
Without the lovely dogwood tree

Lizzie~
So pretty and so Spring.
All the glorious trees in bloom are
such a beautiful sight.
This is as delicate and lovely as
the dogwood itself.

Walt, Looks like we have a little group of night owls here, unless you're on the west coast, But I know Marge is in my time zone and it's 2:00 AM here.
Anyway, thank you for your lovely comment
Liz

Marge, Thank you, dear, for your lovely words. Love you

Liz...just beautiful the way you've blessed the wee hours with this lacy dogwood dance. I just signed mortgage papers for a beautiful old home in my favorite neighborhood (the country's largest intact Victorian neighborhood, actually)...and it has two dogwoods in the backyard! I am so looking toward next Spring's awakening there. Thank you for this lovely gifting.

Lovely, Liz....you capture the beauty of yet another gift of nature I have never had the pleasure of seeing. I love seeing things through your eyes....next best thing to seeing them through my own!! Looking forward to your next poem post as usual!!!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Liz, I loved this! It made me recall the legand of the dogwood... Great job.

Thank you so much, I see I'm not the only one who loves the dogwood. It is so much a part of spring here in Pennsylvania. Your comments are all so beautiful.
I just want to say, I have read all of the responses to my poems, and I appreciate them so much. I am not reponding to all since there are so many on page one, thanks to my friend Lizzie who is rummaging through the attic of Forum 7. You are so sweet Lizzie to read them all. I am so honored. Please know that I have read all of your kind comments, with tears in my eyes, but I'm going to let them drift downstream, which they quickly will, without a written response, just so you understand.
Love

Liz, this is beautiful!  I live in Utah, and have never seen a dogwood tree - but your expressive poem certainly helped me to do so.  Thanks for sharing this exquisite imagery!

Thank you, Troy, It is a joy to see and in full bloom right now.

Cerenity, I love palm trees, have written a few poems about the palm, have lived in the "Palmetto State", and a famous South American poem about the palm tree is one of my favorites. But there aren't any here. Just dogwoods.
Thanks
Liz

Yeah... but it's those darn cottonwoods that keep plugging up me nose and I have to have a handkerchief just to write a little prose. Very sweet Lis.
