Angry words given birth
Hurled on impulse
      For all they're worth
Striking hard just on cue
No regard
      For what is true
Thoughtless accusations fly
Inspiring hatred
      In reply
But human is our need for peace
For resolution
      And release
Treaties written in the dust
Then swept away
      Can we trust?
Second-guessing hows and whys
Beneath civility
      Resentment lies
No end to venom can we see
We've battled fiercely
      Time to flee?
Given choice of fight or flight
Maybe neither
      Can be what's right
So once again may I extend
An olive branch
      To you… my friend?

destiny,

Excellent writing!!!  Sometimes we speak or hurl before thinking.  Sad, but true.  I think we have all been there at one time or another.  You are very kind to offer the olive branch.  I hope it is accepted by the one for whom it was intended.  I know I would accept if it were me.  Nice job!!

Destiny,
I hope that your branch is accepted. . . everyone speaks without thinking sometimes, even me. . . but as someone who strives for peace, I try not to do that. . . but sometimes, even I fail. . .and it does hurt. . . it hurts to hurt someone that you care about. . . but you can only hope that they will forgive you for the silly mistake that you have made and that you will move on. . .

Even the best of friends hurt each other, but if there is true friendship there, they can forgive each other, work out their differences and continue on. . .

Excellent poem my friend. . . I know that if it were I, I too, would accept that branch, and offer my own as well. . .

Destiny, nice to meet you at last
Sure we all have quarrels and disagreements, that is life, but as long as we are both big enough to make up, it's a learning process, not a fight at all!!
An old saying stay plays well with me, 'A wise man forgets his anger before he lies down to sleep!'  One of my life mottos.
Great work!!!
