The  Search for “Him”

I traveled far and wide across the barren land
To find one true of heart and take his mortal hand

I came upon quite a few well taught silver tougned deceivers
I found some who spun with no avail to make me their believer

I dined with Kings in the country of  Love Gone Bad
I sailed with Pirates across the Sea of  Loves Never to Be Had

I watched the sunset with Woodsmen behind  Mnt. EverLust
I sunbathed with Don Juan’s on the beachs of Lake Ever Trust

I camped with Naturals under the stars in the land of Feelings Unknown
I hiked with Athletes through the hills of Relationships Outgrown

I flew with Wing Walkers across the never ending Isle Live Alone
I almost gave up hope as my tiresome journey led me home

Though I had gazed upon men of stautre and of men of Power
Not one brought me to the height of Loves Ivory Tower

But I knew he must be out there among those so untrue
So I returned home to plan another trip into the vast Wild Blue

I re-packed alone till something  soon caught my eye
Could it be that here at home I’d somehow passed him by?

How could I have almost overlooked what I already had?
My very own Brawny Pool Man....the poor unsuspecting Lad!

LOL your SOOOO bad today......
you really had me going girl...
so far to go to discover it was in your own back yard all along...
great poem...loved all the adventures of the journey...
nice to see you smiling my sweet SS!
now go for a swim...(skinny dip)
loves ya
jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Yes, often you pass up the things that are right under your nose... some people never find it, I'm glad that you did. Good poem.

I want to say, that while I thought this quite hilarious, I also think you had several damn fine lines in there!

"I came upon quite a few well taught silver tongued deceivers"

Has got to be one of the best lines I've ever read!!! Bravo on making a poem and a comedy!

Jason* Thank you very much! Although it was fun to write it took some time to polish it off and what started as a romantic tale turned into this.  I appreciate your comments.

Marie* Thanks!

Searched the world all over,
searched close to hand,
searched the bars, that dot your land,
Love found, secrets told,
there is someone, for you to hold.....

Very good!  I feel like we all overlook some of the best things in life sometimes, which are at our fingertips the entire time.  Wonderful job of portraying this!

A silent sigh followed by rolling laughter. Quite the feat you've accomplished, to meld such beautiful phrases into a tale worth laughing at, while still maintaining a moral worth heeding!

I can't beleive you did this to me.
I was hoping for a happy ending - I love
happy endings -----but not one that
had me rolling in laughter.

This was absolutely great -- a poem
with a twist so clever --

Thanks --
