State of constant confusion!

When And Where  (in memory of a friend)

As I sit here on the shore
and watch the waves roll in
It brings back the memories
of when and where again

I can see your deep blue eyes
upon the cresent moon
and all I can think about
is that sunlit afternoon

Back when we were only kids
who thought we knew it all
Always running head on in life
Never afraid to take a fall

I can't believe just how naive
we really were back then
Thinking we could conquer the world
when we were merely men

We failed to see all the stop signs
life threw up along the way
'Til you were abruptly taken from me
on that fateful day

I wish that I could rub a lamp
and bring you back again
As I sit here thinking of a time
of when and where again

*******************************

In loving memory of
Robert Christopher Beaver
02/18/70-06/24/92

I shall never forget you my friend.

Jeffrey* This is such a touching tribute to a dear friend..I have tears in my eyes as I read, it's truly beautiful.  I'm so sorry for your loss of your friend.  I offer you **Angel Wing Hugs** for they ask nothing in return. Take care of you.

this is so perfect Jeffery...
a wonderful tribute...
I was touched by the wisdom found in the things you looked back on...
very well written emotions here.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Very nicely written.  Sad, but
it has so much power in it.

Thanks guys,

I must say this was not an easy one to write. It has been in the works for almost 8 years. I just couldn't bring myself to put the words on paper til now.
I stopped by Chris' grave today just to say hi and I knew that he was proud . I can't say how I knew I just did. Any body ever get that feeling?
Chris was my best friend . He was killed in a car crash. I was the driver and I walked away without a scratch. For a long time I couldn't forgive myself, but when I was at his grave today I just knew that he had forgiven me. He had all along I think.

Thank you for all your concerns and words of encouragement.

All my love,
Jeffrey

Oh wow Jeff...this was wrenching, but beautiful nonetheless...I know he's proud of you sir.  Anyone would be - I'm sure it feels good to finally finish it.  I am so sorry to hear about your story though, I can't even begin to imagine the pain you've carried now all this time.  I'm not sure I would have been able to be so strong.  I have one best friend, and she means the world to me - I would die if I lost her.  Keep your chin up, and continue to write, as writing helps the soul heal....Love you!  Gennifer

Jeffrey~
Your poem had the poignancy to it even before I read your reply explaining the cause of the loss.

My friend, you have carried your burden in a loving heart.  Now comes the peace of knowing that Robert sent you his message of love ... in his forgiveness.

Yes, the experience of knowing another's spirit has reached out to touch us has been shared by this lady.

A beautiful tribute that you shared.

Gen,  Thank you for taking the time to read this piece of my heart. It has not been easy to live with. I know I'll never completely get over this pain, but it has gotten a little easier to bury it in my mind.

Marge,  I know that I will one day see Chris again. It's just a matter of time. Glad to hear someone else has experienced the feeling of being touched by someone's spirit. I thought maybe I was losing it...lol

All my love,
Jeffrey

I am swept away in the feeling that you have brought with your words of love for a lost friend.  My heart cries at your lost.  Lovely poem Jeff

I'm deeply touched by your poem, Jeffrey.  It must have been so hard for you to release your feelings...and to undo your feelings of guilt...Hugs!  Time brings wisdom.

First I would like to say that I feel better than I have in years to finally share this pain with someone. It is like a swwet release.

Lovebug....We are always together for he will always be in my heart.

First Knight, Thank you

Martie, Thank you and yes it feels very good to release the pain. Time truly does bring wisdom.

Marie, Thank you dear for listening to my ramblings. You are a special friend.

Jeffrey - I'm sure Chris will be very proud to call you his friend - and even though he is with God now, I'm sure he is watching over you and guiding you along life's pathway. Your poem was beautifully written with love.
