This is for all the homeless people in our world... Hunger pangs stop screaming, you know I have no food. You intrude upon my dreaming. How can you be so rude? A soft and warm down mattress replaced this cold, hard stone. Snowy sheets, soft pillows. All for me alone. There's a kitchen down the street, but I'm too tired to try. Can't seem to activate my feet. My throat is parched and dry. I used to have a home address. Then I dropped through the crack. Now I sub-exist in homelessness. I can't find my way back. "Now I lay me down to sleep." How did that old prayer go? "I pray the Lord my soul to keep?" When hunger let's me go. Finish your beer--There are sober people in China! |

 Welcome to Passions!!You have written on a subject that is very dear to my heart...I often wonder the story behind each homeless person and wonder what their lives have been like to lead them to where they are today. Beautifully written. I hope to read more of your work and thank you so much for sharing this with us. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |
