(written for my husband who built a beautiful cross for a church that had none, for a friend out of love, and then spent Easter in the garden working, the place where he sees God.)

  Cathedral of Trees

Dressed in silk
patterned soft subdue,
the ladies cover the sidewalk,
in Easter suited splendor
the little boys in white fidget
and frilly girls dance in circles
down the steps of cobbled wall church
where organ’s heavy heart rejoices.

In another place I see holy in
a cross carved by dear hands,
touched by gold
it climbs the sky to gift
this day with profound love
given for friendship
and blessed with his blue eyes
that worship in a different church
where he touches God
in dark and fragrant soil
under the cathedral of trees
in the garden.

Martie~
What a lovely loving treat.
Your husband is to be *HUGGED*.
Take care of that for me, will you?

Thank you for sharing this little
piece of your life with me on this day.
I love you, my sister.

Wonderful, Martie. There are many cathedrals and places of worship. I admire your husband for doing that. Shucks, I admire him just for having you! Beautiful work....

This was a lovey poem to post near Easter too

Under a tree
on his knees
in rich brown earth
a spirit's rebirth.

Thank you for all your sweet responses!!
