~  Angels Are Romantic  ~
by poetFemmeFatale
April 22, 2000

Music filled the air
as on the floor, the dancers danced -
Elegant & graceful,
onlookers quite entranced...

Ladies in long gowns
led by gentlemen with style -
Having just arrived,
I blended - watching for awhile...

Romantically adaze
I felt the magic in the air -
Approached by one or two young men,
alas, I didn't dare...

Frozen there, was I
my heart it trembled, as I stood -
Longing to be on the floor,
dancing if I could...

Something held my feet
ever fast there to the floor -
Bewildered now - as fear took hold,
I started for the door...

Pushing through the crowd
in flight -  I didn't realize -
You were waiting by the door,
to stop me with your eyes...

Handsomely you stood
you weren't about to let me leave -
You took my hand & pulled me near,
and whispered softly, "breathe..."

You led me to the floor
we closed our eyes, began to sway -
The only ones, it seemed out there,
I felt so safe this way...

My head against your chest
with both your arms around me tight -
Secure was I, within your warmth,
we danced all through the night...

Music oh so soft
with you my angel, there I found -
Pure love, as I had never known,
our *sighs* the only sound...

We danced as if on air
hovering o'er the crowd below -
You held me there so heavenly,
and didn't let me go...

Our feet not on the ground
and yet, you didn't seem surprised -
How lost I'd been, but now I'd found,
myself there in your eyes...

Angels are romantic
now having danced with one, I'm sure.
Their arms are oh so strong,
& their kisses, oh so pure...

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Ok Gen. . . you been looking in my notebook?

This was great. . . and I think that I have my top hat and tails back from the cleaners if you'd like to have one waltz. . .

PdV - - *curtsies*  So glad you stopped in to enjoy this one!  Fred & GInger were a little before my time, but that "dancing on air" was the feeling I was going for!  LOL  I've seen some clips of them if it makes you feel better!  hehehe

Lost Dreamer, netswan, and James - - Thanks for reading and enjoying the magic with me!  Wwoooo is it magic....

Janet - - I don't think he has a brother...   Well, I'm not sure!  BTW, you should SEE how I dance!     You'd be breaking out in a sweat girl!  hehehe  I get CRAZY!

Sven - - Uh...the waltz.  You'd definately have to teach me that one, and wear your steel-toed boots!

Jeffrey - - This one has legs??  ROFL  (blushing) Glad you uh....liked them?  hehe

To all of you who are humoring me of late with my romantic tales....thank you.  I've acquired a sort of "angel" in my heart and mind, who inspires much of my works of late.  Whenever I experience writer's block, I just think of "him", and write...What he gives me is most enchanting!  LOL  Thank you angel.  He's my imaginery friend....   hehe

Imaginary friend eh?  Well, does this "friend" have a name?

And as for the waltz. . . I think that you'd pick it up quite quickly!!

yet another beautiful distraction?  I too have imaginings, but they never inspire as your muse does.  Thank you for this one.
