In the space between moments

Enswathed in charcoal twilight
Liquid sorrow seeps
Plunging through the swarming stars
When lonely eyes do weep.

Lady Luna's breath stands frozen
Prayers iced in time
Moistened by an angel's flutter
In yearning so sublime.

Midnight fades to the coming glow
Of Apollo's ribboned rays
The anguish of the smothering black
Falls with approaching day.

Bitterness imprisoned deep within
Melds with loving grace
As the ache of dreams now lost
Leaves my tranquil face.

A soul untangled from worldly weight
Set free to always soar
Past iron gates of drenching sorrow
And through love's open door.

Beautiful poem, Krista!  I'd rank this as one of your greatest... I loved lines like "Enswathed in charcoal twilight" and "Past iron gates of drenching sorrow."  I loved this one

Wow!!!!!

A soul untangled from worldly weight
                                              Set free to always soar
Past iron gates of drenching sorrow
                                           And through love's open door.

That's my favorite verse....no hang on...they all are!!!

Another huge success
For the Twilight Poetess!!

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

First_Knight- Thank you for your kind reply.

JM- *blushes*  You are much too kind.  And your words do evoke emotion in me.  Thank you so much for both your poetry and your lovely reply to my own.

That was most beautiful Krista!  I agree with Abe, 'tis one of your best!  I especially love your first stanza:                      "Enswathed in charcoal twilight
Liquid sorrow seeps
Plunging through the swarming stars
When lonely eyes do weep."

Stars are symbols of so many things, you used it well!  I enjoyed much!

Quite a poem you've written here, a treasure for sure. I can only say that each and every line is superb, and begs you read on. You should be very proud of this and all of your wonderful poetry.
Congratulations on an exquisite piece
