BECOMING

I walk in the desert,
Lay my head to the stone.
The night is my lover,
But by day, I'm alone.
There is no cleansing
To the tears that I cry.
I'll probably never know why.

Time is a poison,
Bleeds life from these veins.
Reality frozen
To a heart held in chains.
The candice of nature
Slowly steals away pride.
My God, there's nowhere to hide.

I dream of a doorway
Just beyond the set sun.
Close my eyes to reach it,
Let all vanity run.
A shift in the timeline,
Now the world falls away.
I become yesterday.

A breeze in the desert,
A soft rain in Spring.
Joy in a child's eye,
I become everything.
A flutter of hope
Filling the heart of sorrow,
Alas, I become tomorrow.

Michael Anderson

For all behind was dark and drear,
And all before was night and fear.
How many hours of night or day
In those suspended pangs I lay,
I could not tell; I scarcely knew
If this were human breath I drew.

Lord Byron

Micheal,
Oh Prince of Poets, I definitely needed this at this time in my life. Especially after the last 3 days I've had. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this.
It's beautiful by the way.

Egads, me beloved saint, methinks you are just as moody as I--but so much more eloquent, incredible, in fact, in style....

Serenity blows a kiss...NOW SMILE.

Oh Michael..you can describe my feelings better than I can sometimes.  The only way I get through some days is by holding the flicker of hope within tomorrow within my heart.  Truly beautiful, my friend.

you also become more and more amazing to me each day...each new poem is more striking than the last...
I wanna kiss your muse (smile)
this is perfection M,
thanks for the lovely read this eve.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Jeffrey, I'm glad this had such an uplifting effect for you.
serenity, alas, I always have a smile for you,    but why so moody???

Krista, then you completely understand how I feel when I read your work.  It's like peeking into my own soul. TY

Janet, LOL at kissing the muse - heck, I can't sort through all the voices in my head,  that might be a scarier prospect than you think....

Thank you all for the replies.
