State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-04-16 06:12 PM

To the inhabitants of the Earth,

In the year 2020 we were forced to abandon our home planet. To search for a new place to make a new start. You see we, without regard for the future of our planet, destroyed all hopes of ever having a real future to leave to our children. We had  total disregard for our environment not really thinking that we were doing any harm. Yet in retrospect we now see just how much we could have done to save our precious home.
We, much like you, were building weapons of mass destruction for our defences against other inhabitants of our planet. Paying no attention to the protection of our natural recources. In the end our children could not even walk outside without special protective clothing. It is a sad sight to see a beach with no one taking in the sheer beauty that it once was.
We are imploring of you to take a look at the world in which you live to see what changes you can make in your everyday activities to help clean up your environment while threre is still time. Please don't disregard this letter! We are simply trying to open your eyes to see what you are headed for.
In closing we can only hope that you will learn from the mistakes that we have made, and see the beauty of the world that you are throwing away. Believe us when we tell you that you can never replace your true home.
This is a plea from a dying race to help save another.

Please take these words to heart
                   Citezens of Zartagh

Jeffrey - excellent piece, my friend!  It's scary, what we have done (and are still doing) to our planet.  This really puts it into perspective!  Have you ever heard the song "Countdown to Extinction" by Megadeth?

Nice job, and BTW - I love you, man!

Jeffrey, this is a really cool, letter to the people of planet Earth. I really like the future approach some of us are taking.
Great Job for Earth Day, and another challenge well met.

It sounds like something out of a sci-fi,
but alas, it is not sci-fi.  Great letter,
Jeffrey - challenge well met!

I love your writings

VERY COOL jeffery my man...very!!
creative and well thought out...
how did ya get to be so smart LOL
thanks for joining in the cause...
and for always being so NICE!!
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Reminds me of a bumper sticker:

Keep the Earth clean--
it's not Uranus!

SMiles to you, JC....
