What Tomorrow Will Be Like
By: Amy M. Kennedy

Earth…what will it be like come tomorrow?
I predict a world that will be filled with pain and sorrow
No more snow-capped mountains or oceans of blue
So many people wandering aimlessly around, haven’t got a clue

Tomorrow will be gray and without a ray of hope
And all humans will surely die, unable to cope
All creatures will suffocate, trees that are cut down
Without oxygen, things loose their green and become ugly and brown

But I doubt people really care
They’re in their own little world
Doesn’t matter that atmosphere has a hole in it
That the world is slowly being burned

The Earth is slowly coming to an end
Choked filled air, replacing what use to be gentle wind
The seas, bodies of water no longer clear
This and more is my worst fear

The time is now for us to wake up before it’s too late
We can prevent all this, change our fate
But it will take us all, each and every single one of us
And shouldn’t we? After all God gives us unconditional love

I say the time is now, before there is no more time
So let’s worry more about mother Earth
And a little less time about making a dime
Maybe if we try, we can give this world…a new birth!

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Very powerful and well done..brings some serious thoughts to mind.  Exellent work!

Amy, this is a wonderful addition to our challenge cause for Earth Day. We all seem to painting a very bleak future, I think I'm getting depressed  from all this. But I guess we have to say it, nobody else seems to be. Challenge  met. Thank you sincerely for posting.

Hey guys-

Thank you all for the comments. A little birdie told me that I would be good at posting for something like this. I guess they were right, maybe. Anyway Parker it was my pleasure and honor to post something regarding Earth Day. I am a huge nature person myself, so the Earth is something very near and dear to my heart! I don't think our future HAS to be bleak and hopeless. But if we want to correct the problems of yesterday, then TODAY we have to start so that we can secure a happy, safe, and environmentally healthy atmoshpere for our children and their children and so on. Or else, it's sad to say...but Earth as we know it, will no longer exist and neither will we.

Thanks again everyone!
~Amy~

Hi Amy! This is great. You know I read
this before and could have sworn I posted.
Sure glad Parker threw it back up.
This is a powerfully inspirational poem
that makes a person think!

Thanks
