Say One More Prayer

Please say one more prayer for him
His future days are looking grim
And I cannot be with him there
So please say one more prayer

I know there’s worry on his face
A hospital is not the place
To give his spirit needed care
So please say one more prayer

He used to play a sweet guitar
In days gone by a country star
His silent voice I cannot bear
Please say an extra prayer

Please, Lord, Bring him back to me
If you should take him now, I plea
Listen to my humble prayer
Let me meet him There

Let me meet him once again
In future days at highway’s end
A life eternal we will share
If You will hear my prayer

All these words she said to me
A freind in soul and poetry
I'll let her know how much I care
To say just one more prayer

Liz

That was a very emotional piece.  Prayer is a strong tool to work with.

This is beautiful Liz!
Brought a tear to my eye.
As always, I love your writing!

*A prayer I will say for him
You say his days are looking grim
A prayer for her is also in need
The lords ear I will fill indeed*

Liz you brought tears to my eyes. I thought this was for your husband? But you say her too, who does this speak of?

BTW how is your husband doing?

Thank you all for your kind remarks. This poem was written for a friend of mine. It was not about my husband. To answer your question, Rebecca, my husband's surgery is set for May 10th, and yes, prayers are also needed for him. Thank you for your concern.
He is resting here at home until then
