How can I forget?

How can I forget all the joy I had?
The great times we had,
Our conversations,
Those rare times I cried with you.

Those were the best of times.
You were my best friend, my brother.
For the first time I opened myself up,
And let you in.

But that had to change.
It made you uncomfortable
To have someone so close,
that needed you so bad.

How can I forget all the pain you caused me?
I never understood.
You made no sense to me!
Just like that, Poof!
All those months of growing closer were gone.
I'm sorry, but girls don't work like that.
To me, it was the worst rejection.
You abandoned me in the worst way, at the worst time.

But How can I forget all the pain I caused you in return?
You tried to explain, and I turned away.
I turned my back to you,
I called you a jerk.
For days I would not talk to you.

But things are "ok" now.
We made ammends.
The relationship had to change,
but at least it is still there.

But every time I see you my soul aches.
I so badly want back the brother I once had.
But you can't, and I understand.
So we both adapt.

Things are great between us now,
Everything is just grande! -- so we pretend.
But really, it's not.
I mean really, how can it be?
How can I forget?

If you love someone enough, you can do anything.. no matter what it is.  Trust your heart.  I enjoyed this poem very much!

that we recognize our oneness,
even as the single droplet of water
knows also that it is the sea."Daniel

What a thought provoking poem.. Doesn't it make you wish you could return to yesterday? But then again you learn along the way so its a toss up

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.

Torrie~
Stick to him like glue.
Others may come and go ..
but brothers are forever.

Beautiful emotions here.

Torrie - So sad - so emotional.
I don't know what your brother has
done ----families are so important.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest
tasks in life --- But it can be done.

Grudges for me, are another hard
task to do.  I just can't hold a grudge.
Personally, Torrie, it is just too much
work ---)

Here is a hug for your pain,

Thanks everyone for your responses.  They really do make my day.  Here's some insight to the poem -- the man I'm talking about here is not my real brother.  He's a dear friend that had become very much like a brother to me, almost more than my real brother.  Than, he decided that was not such a good idea.  That's where this poem comes from.  This all happened more than a month ago, but the confusion/pain is still very real today.  Thanks again for all your responses, I enjoy reading them all!!
