I remember the pain of yesterday
When I would sit by myself and play
Not a single friend to call my own
I lived isolated and horribly alone

I wish I could go back and change
All that led me to a life estranged
Give myself courage, remove the doubt
Learn how to end that social drought

I remember the pain of yesterday
When I was beaten for being in the way
I believed what he did was right
Who was I to put up a fight?

So my days went on living in fear
I lived through it all without a tear
I shut myself out, lived in a dream
Locked away, none heard me scream

I remember the pain of yesterday
When I locked all the fears away
'Tis Better to live a life unfeeling
Than under a painful, descending ceiling

Whoa...chilling...gave me shivers.

There is no hope for yesterday, only today, and maybe tomorrow.  Take what you have now, and take another step forward...for stepping backwards only moves you backwards, not into yesterday.

Yesterday can sometimes feel like today.  But now you have many friends here at Passions that you can call your own.  A very well written poem, sad,but very good.

This was a truly sad poem but beautifully written with spirit and heart! Cool about us having almost the same title.   Take care.

Mistik, I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I think you are strong enough to get through it... you are stronger than the man that beat you, that's for sure!

Very good poem, and I'm so glad that as you grow older, you are learning to deal with this issue. It's good to face it and move on. Thanks

Mistik, ....
I share this pain with you!
And I can also tell you that once you're ready.....
you can find it in your heart to forgive, and
life seems to get a bit better, day by day!
Of course it will never be forgoten, but just
a bit easier!
{{HUGS}} to you!

Been there, and couldn't have said it better myself.  I do hope this poem is about the past and you've sense made a few friends though, I have.  And man what a relief. =)

Thanks.  Great poem.
