Shortcut To Somewhere

I walked not knowing where I was going
just knew I needed to settle my mind,
I found a road with rolling hills and nature
such the paradise I needed so to find.

I saw stone walls protecting properties,
trees looking like that of father time,
flowers blooming a blessing in disguise,
birds echoing sweet songs that rhyme.

I could have walked this road for eternity
me alone with myself walking so free,
so many questions I needed answered
as nature and it's wonders overcame me.

This paved road a shortcut to somewhere
now a refuge for me to search my soul,
I felt surrounded by all the beauty of life
through which I now understand my goal.

Hey Ali, Thanks for coming and reading my poem, glad you liked it. The view is most beautiful, I felt wonderful.

As to being Lost when I joined passions I had just moved to a new state after living in another one all my life, so I was Lost, so that's why I am lost and I think I still semi am. I have always been a Dreamer and always will be.

Thanks for the lovely stroll, Gloria! I have started doing that everyday, it is so relaxing, isn't it? It does put things in perspective too!

Somebody one said "the key to life is understanding".  I never realy knew what he meant...LOL  I saw much beneath the surface of this poem.  One of your best works (imho).

Denise: Thank you for reading about my stroll, and yes it very relaxing and very good for the mind, I am almost glad I needed to go walk otherwise I may have not found this road, now I shall walk there everyday and let nature overcome me, what a delight.

Michael: Thank you so much, I could not have found the answers to my questions or come to understanding if I had not gone out and become one with nature today, it was marvelous how it made me feel.

Ali: I am starting to know my way around, but it is so different, yet much more beautiful. Never lived in the country before, I was a city girl, never realized what I was missing.

I think I've read quite a bit of your work here, but this is par excellence. A wonderful piece, full of nature's detail and your emotional connection with it...just lovely.
