In dark of night across lawn crept,
On noiseless feet as parents slept,
Before the dawn and day's unfurl,
Before morn's dew on grass impearl.

Down garden path, beneath oak tree,
When heard a sound, did turn to see,
In Luna's glow, a faerie spry,
With fragile wings of butterfly.

Was dancing on a daisy white,
Wings a flutter, in moon's soft light,
Upon the wind, heard angels sing,
Song to my heart, a warmth did bring.

But then a snap, on twig I stepped,
I quickly froze, in silence kept,
It was too late, as faerie's flight,
Was but a blur, into the night.

O' Daddy mine, are faeries real?
As by my chair did daughter kneel,
I gazed upon angelic face,
She led me to a special place.

A daisy white, heard angels sing,
As I was touched by faerie's wing,
O' daughter dear, her forehead kissed,
Yes, faeries do, for real exist.

Yes, they do, don't they?   Such an engaging poem, Mike.

another *SIGH*

if I didnt believe in them before, I do now.
this is so perfect...exquisite imagery...
love the vision of your little angel.
very lovely to read.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Oh...this is devine!  Probably because I love white daisy's...they're a simple flower, but delicate and beautiful nonetheless.  I think that's what it was - the whole thing was magical...I'm with JM..I do believe in them myself after reading this!     Will catch you soon.

Down by the garden gate
bright night moonlit wait
and bed time was for me at eight
I cuddled up against a tree
in dew damp grass sat patiently
for captured view of faery dance
waiting for just one glance
of tiny wings and upturned nose
and dancing graceful faery toes
of course I slept til half past two
and dreamed the faery came in view
and kissed my cheek where smile I claim
in my mirror still remains.

Mike, I love faeries and I loved your poem!

Mike, I love this! I collect faeries (at least the pewter ones) and I think they are everywhere just as angels are. Peter Pan said that "when the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of faeries". Love your poem!
