-- Call me crazy from your cage --  (3-??-2000)

You can tear down my temple, but my soul's already been released.
I never asked you to join me, so don't tread on my beliefs.
You can spit in my face and call me what you like.
I don't fear you, only the cages in your life.
You confine yourself to the few pleasures that you've known,
Only because you fear the memory of a pain that is gone.
Hide from it as you may, but for all of us - death is always only a life away.

I just now realized I had this one.  It was inspired by my first skydive.  Just a little reminder that you can only die once, but you can live every day.

So many people spend so much time trying to protect themselves from the unknown because of the bad they might find there that they forget that there is a chance they might find good there too.

Sometimes you just have to put away your fears and live a little ya know?

LOL Dave, first skydive. I did one when
I was sixteen and that was enough for
me. haha

Great poem, keep them coming.
I have been writing new ones for the
causes in here April 22 - is earth
day.  This month is child abuse month.

But, I, too, have many poems stashed away
for a sunny day.

Thanks for sharing

jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Netswan - Man I loved it.. plan on doing it again as soonas possible.  Yeah, I'm hopinhg to get inspired for the earthday challenge... as for the child abuse... well.. the poem I wrote called "Helpless Empathy" right after I posted this one is about as close as I think I'm going to come.  Just brings back too many memories for me.

Jan - LOL  You remind me of a skydiving term I read when I was looking in to skydiving:

Whuffo - Person observing skydiving activities from the ground sometimes with a dazed look on their face asking
"Whuffo they do that?"

Thanks for the compliment too.. I'm not sure about my wisdom... it comes and goes I think. =)
