The Hammer

Endless hours

spent silent, still, stiffened with fear.

Elbows, knees, shoulders frozen,

aching,

waiting,

inflamed with edgelessness.

Nothing to keep my insides inside me.

Nothing left to keep him out.

No one to hold me.

No hand to touch.

No eyes to cry with mine.

No voice to soothe me.

...nothing.

Martie, Mike, thank you both. As much time as I spend counseling folks working through emotional healing and empowerment, this topic tonight has me feeling very vulnerable, confirming to myself that I've a lot of work to do yet.

Love and shared peace,
Claire

This cuts very deep, Meadowmuse..so powerful your words are.  It's wonderful that you help people who are in such situations.  Hugs to you, Claire.

Claire,
there is always much work that needs to be done. . . but we can do it. . .the strength that we need must come from within. . . you will find it. . .

Excellent poem, my friend. . .

ohhh... this is so---I am speechless.

If loneliness and perfection should ever be in the same sentence---well, think I need to go hug my pillow now...beautiful, Meadowmuse.
