Somewhere in the night
Someone will cry
Waiting for love to die

Neon lights won’t illuminate
Darkened streets where aimless souls,
Masses of flesh await
Filling little vacant holes
They won’t hesitate

Shiny diamonds of dirty glass
Sparkle once and once only
Fading in twilight fast
A little lost and lonely,
But too bright to last

So much given away too soon
Can never be retrieved
Where once begged for highest noon,
Now all are grieved
With a fainting swoon

Somewhere in the night
Someone did cry
Waiting for love to die

you are so cool, as is this poem...
man, I love this one...
very cool imagery and depth,
and the title is perfect presented this way.
Can you say my name in French(smile).
excellent jer, and always worth the wait.
stalking you while swooning,
your jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

I am with michael on this one....that line says so much about this hurry hurry world and what it has done to the art and passion of being in love...and not properly grown, it dies untimely....great writing

JML,
superb my friend. . . it's nice to see that there are still some of us that carry the banner for passion and romance. . .we are truly a dying breed. . .

Excellent poem!!

awesome.  Liked the way this has that "beat" style to it, ala the 1960's.
