state of confusion

I let pure water caress me,
In a pond that is still virginal
and let the wind undress me.

The sun my blanket to soothe,
the rocks and moss my bed,
drinking in her scents smooth.

Tears fall when I sit on earth's edge
for what the children will not see,
unless we adults take the pledge.

For the wolf does not discern,
the lack of the redwood tree,
only humans can boast to learn.

We build our homes to cover,
stripping earth far and wide,
like some kind of lover.

Leaving little left for tomorrow,
extinction numbers climbing,
a bequest we leave of sorrow.

Corrine this is pure poetry and I would
say this is an earth challenge very well
met - Thanks so much for taking the time
to put this very needful message in
such beautiful lines.

Corinne, your words, flow beautifully here.
A challenge well met.
The ozone must be completely gone now, cause its getting pretty hot in here right now.

Where is that pond when you need it.

beautiful Corinne, and sadly so true...
so many things lost...
what part of extinction dont we understand?
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

This was sad but written quite beautifully.  I really like the rhyme scheme used, too.

Oh, Corinne.   We have to hope we can turn things around.  This seems an approriate place for me to repost one from earlier.

                 Tenancy

I said our hellos to the ocean.
It answered in soft muffled tones.
It spoke both of joy and of sadness,
its words all repeated -
all marching like armies of clones.

The words told of damage inflicted
by creatures who think that we own
the land and the sky and the ocean;
but we have forgotten,
we're tenants just renting a home.

We can't hear the sounds of this ocean -
its pleasures, and never its pains.
We can't hear the calls for rent payment,
so we face eviction -
a future as merely some stains.
