Thie piece is a little personal as it describes me wanting to be the best poet ever because I'm a very competitive person that prides on being the best at something.

Ever since I was a youngster,
I wanted to be sucessful,
live a life of happiness,
and a life that's distressful.
I know that in order to get the best in me,
I have to reach down deep
and ignite the fire
that burns my yearning desires.
I know that I can't do it all by myself
so I ask God for his help.
With his guidance,
I will find the courage and strength,
to suceed at life's greatest lengths.
Soon, God's help will cease
because ultimately, it's up to me,
get the best out of me.
I've always believed very deeply,
that it's always been my destiny,
to get the best out of me
because, I've always wanted to be number one
but it ain't easy when there's a million
other gifted poets under the sun.
I want to be the best poet ever
but I know that I have to
get my mind and heart together
because in order for me to achieve
I have to really dig deep
in order to getr the best out of me.
My poems are a complete work of art
as I give a 100% with all my heart.
My poetry concepts are well-thoughtout and executed
as my creativity and visualization
can never be disputed.
But in order for me
to be the best,
I have to dig deep
in my treasure chest
so that I can achieve
what I always wanted to be
and that's the truly best in me.

Thats right Nate we all have to dig into our treasure chests...and dig out that creativity God has blessed us with..and shape it to our satisfaction.  Keep on writing you have it flowing.    James

Nate~
I always enjoy your 'heart'.
We all have to dig deeply to find
that which will shine for us.

I write for the sheer pleasure
that it gives me to share it with others.
I have no further aspirations than that.
My 'best' is the pouring of my heart
upon a page that may reach out and touch
someone else.  When I touch someone else,
it touches me.

I like to think that we see the 'best'
of every poet in the thoughts from their hearts.
Keep aspiring ... reaching in ...
and pouring out.
