Ok, this is my first poem on here, so PLEASE bear with me. BRIEF history of poem:I wrote it on an airplane napkin right after breaking up with my boyfriend on our 1 year anivversary. NOW to the poem:

Broken Promises

You gave me your word,
I gave you my heart,
Now I don't know
Where to start.

Remember when we met
For the first?
And how we kissed,
Eyes closed, lips pursed?

Now all I have
Is a shattered heart,
My love of life
(but only part)
And an unforgivable
broken promise,
That somehow reminds me
Of our last kiss

I am fairly new here myself --

I think that his posting is great - it
is smooth from start to finish --
and I like the way you have the first
kiss and ending it with the last kiss.
Well, done.
PS. Hearts do heal, you know!

Silvertongue, first let me say welcome to passions, you will love it here. I am truly sorry to hear of such a loss, your poem is bittersweet and very well expressed. I am sure that almost everyone who reads your poem will relate to your words. I wish you love in the future and hope that you will no longer be haunted of the "last kiss"

Broken promises and shattered hearts are abundant here ... they account for a good percentage of the reading ... so most people can relate to your situation
