*a tribute*

~Resurrection~

Holy Empyrean born of night ...
baptized in heavenly celestial light.
Forgiveness granted ... a most glorious resurrection
a new path to follow leading in God's direction.

Walk on water ... pass thru doors of time ...
psalms of healing rebirth ... silence requiem chimes.
In a garden of Eden, in a hidden paradise ...
in cleansing ceremony, sin is offered up to forgiving sacrifice.

Wrapped in robes of gold shimmering,
wise men bring gifts of jewels glimmering.
Wings on palms grant freedom of flight..
look towards the heavens, witness the circling light.

Rites of passage is guaranteed,
atonement grants this venial heart freed.
On bended knee, whispered prayers and vows,
Past memories of pain ... take their final bows.

Pharohs and prophets collect a visions sign ...
scriptures passed down, their message divine.
This poets soul released from midnight's tomb,
stationed in waiting, protected by a blessed cocoon.

An angel sings her verse of love's undying emotions,
prayers are whispered ... promises of devotion.
Resurrection grants this gift of healing rebirth,
witness the miracle of his creations, both in heaven and on earth.

Janet Marie

for DeVante'...as promised, with love always.

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Janet Marie,
This is easily the best work of yours I have ever read. I just think it is outstanding! I love it when poetry rolls of my tongue as I read it and this certainly did. Great poem.

Beautiful work Jan... Even better the second time I read it.

I'm not really scared of death myself, and this poem makes it look like somthing to look forward to. =)  Not that I'm going to hurry it or anything... =)

"The storm rises up when the shadows descend
every beat of my heart every day without end
I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break
till theres no more to give if thats what it takes
I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed
I will lay down my life if thats what you need
every second I live thats the promise I make"

I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =)

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all who replied in such a wonderful and encouraging way...you make my heart glow and as a poet you help me to grow...
this poem is special to me...
it was written for a very extraordinary person who touched my life for precious short time and then flew away ...
as angels must do...
he was one of the most gifted poets I've ever known and he is the reason I write again.
I had let myself become lost to writing for years...keeping it all in...he gave it back to me...and in doing so set my heart and soul free...writing is a gift I will never take for granted again...I hope and pray none of you ever do either...
Thanks for listening and always allowing me to be me...
love to Passions... and Happy Easter to you all also.
take care, jm

Jan

If I can get past the lump in my throat, I will try to post a reply that is worthy of such a beautiful poem! Let me first say, you NEVER cease to amaze me. You possess a talent that is beyond the grasp of me! I do stand in awe of you, and have in such a short time learned so much from you!

This particular poem is definitely one of my favorites if not my favorite by you! You have such a loving and beautiful soul and believe it or not, it shines through in your work. You may call me the sunhine girl...but I too see celestial light around you.

love ya and happy easter!!

Janet Marie, This is so beautifully written, and so appropriate that it should be at the top of the forum on Easter morning. I love everthing you write and don't always respond for lack of time right now, but you outdid yourself with this lovely poem.
