TRUE HEIR

Fly the banner, newly started
In this manner, duly parted.
Everlasting life distinguished
The dream casting knife relinquished

A palsied thought calls for violence
A wish forgot falls to silence
Hope ever spun upon starkness
Never begun, shines in Darkness.

Within this foul - fell dank, demure
Fair demon's howl, hell spawns the cure.
If by retract, practiced magic,
One simple act deemed so tragic.

Dissectible, come to in faux,
Delectable, memory flaw...
Though miserly, sways creation,
Despisingly lays foundation.

Stands ‘er renown, upon the throne
By blood, by crown, a king, alone.
In hope, in tear, in stolen prayer,
Conveys all fear of the true heir.

Michael Anderson

For all behind was dark and drear,
And all before was night and fear.
How many hours of night or day
In those suspended pangs I lay,
I could not tell; I scarcely knew
If this were human breath I drew.

Lord Byron

Michael, it doesn't get much better than this, oh gee did I just challenge you to try, and if you do you will prove me wrong for sure, cause everyone of yours gets better. Your poetry is like a finely aged exquisite wine.

The banners were flown
As the field was sown
With blood as swords sing
For their True King

Wonderfully vivid imagery and command of the written word...Vivant!!

and remember....all hearts conquered by battle are not won but dead to their conqueror...beatiful but dark piece Michael.  I sense a change in mood from dark to darker.  More cheerful are life and Spring.  Best to you.

Michael,

You are truely amazing. This struck an awful chord within. What a wave you have been. Did we grow up in the same neighborhood..?
