Pluto's Revenge My name is Pluto and I'm sad. I've lost the claim to fame I had. I used to be a planet, but, Just recently, my name was cut! I do not dominate the field Where I'm located, it's revealed. Science says I am too small To be a planet, after all. The asteroids go hurtling by. They used to flash and holler "Hi." But now they turn away from me, For I've lost my identity! The stars all giggle every night. Then try to blind me with their light. I have no friends, I'm ostracized. A foreign object in my skies. You wouldn't believe the things I hear, For insults float the atmosphere! But I'll get even, wait and see. I'm eating Wheaties faithfully. So someday I'll be big and strong. Then prove those scientists are wrong! You'd best watch out, down there on earth. I'll overwhelm you with my girth! Betty Lou Hebert |
